THE SCOTTISH Government is hit today with yet another broadside from the wild salmon lobby over its policy on fish farming.
A major study of peer-reviewed scientific evidence by the Salmon & Trout Association, the UK’s leading game fish conservation charity, reveals what it calls “incontrovertible proof” of the threat to wild fish as a result of “devastating malpractice” by the multi-million pound aquaculture industry.
It says Scotland’s iconic wild salmon, sea trout and the marine environment now face impending disaster unless a nine-point action plan is implemented as a priority. Full analysis and reaction will follow here later.
